Data stored in Access, SQL Server, SyBase,
Exchange Server, Oracle and other databases maintained on networked File servers. Object & Relational database management technologies are fundamental to modern IT systems, often enhances the active applications run by the entire corporation.
UniDataRecovery is capable of database recovery from:
• MS Access (.mdb).
• MS SQL (.mdf, .dat)
• Ms Visual FoxPro (.dbf)
• Ms works databases (.wdb)
• Paradox databases (.db)
• Interbase and Firebird databases (.gdb, .ib, .fdb)
• dBASE and FoxBase databases (.fpt)
• Oracle databases and backups from Oracle 8i
1. Existing risks of Data Loss with SQL, Oracle RDBMS Databases
As individual media/drives in database servers suffer from the similar faults/failure as do drives in individual computers and workstations.
Experienced System Administrators are aware of the relational or object oriented database environment is fragile unless supported by comprehensive backups. Unfortunately, it is all too common for devices to become corrupt beyond the scope of DIY / routine recovery methods. Failures still occur in even the most well-configured system, such as:
• Accidentally overwritten database files & devices
• Accidentally deleted records
• Backup files not recognizable by database engine
• Database locked as 'suspect' preventing access
• Deleted or dropped tables
• Corrupted database files and devices
• Damaged individual data pages
2. The Recovery Process
UniDataRecovery Data Recovery Labs technicians treat Database loss situations as
Emergency with the upmost priority. An initial diagnosis outlining the fault and if the media device is accessible to our lab equipment. If so, the first priority is to clone an image of the data from accessible media onto UniDataRecovery media so that the damaged database devices and tables can be accessed.
If hardware problems, when there is an error message or operating system configuration problems have rendered the basic data tables inaccessible or damaged then UniDataRecovery technicians proceed just as they would for a
Server/
RAID Recovery.
UniDataRecovery
Data Recovery Labs technicians can then analyze the contents of the raw sector images to identify the tables and records containing your desired data. This data can then be extracted and the entire database rebuilt, if necessary.
Normal system maintenance routines are unable to recover all data in situations where underlying media failure or structural corruption has eliminated key pointers; indeed those routines will often exacerbate the damage.
UniDataRecovery Data Recovery Labs programmers have created a full set of software tools used by our technicians to analyze, fix & recover data from relational and object database systems. Once a recovery has been successfully performed, file and table lists are created and data validity is checked.
3. Recovery Pricing for Databases
UniDataRecovery's experience in these types of recoveries ranges from the most straightforward and basic all the way through project level cases that have taken months to resolve. As you may expect, no two data recovery scenarios are identical in all respects. Therefore, this uniqueness makes it impossible to give a realistic indication of pricing without knowing all of the facts for a particular case. Generally speaking, pricing starts at about £500 for the most basic and can be in the £6,000 and up range for extremely complex.
Over the phone, our highly trained Customer Service Consultants will be able to give you some idea of what pricing you would be looking at given your particular configuration and set of circumstances. Sending in your case for a no obligation evaluation will give us all of the information we would require to give you a firm quotation for the recovery of your data.
4. Turn-Around Time
Time is not always critical but most of the time it is! UniDataRecovery has geared its entire service to recover your data as fast as possible. When dealing with such a wide variety of problems, estimating time before the problem is diagnosed is difficult. That is why, each recovery case starts with a free evaluation.
The free evaluation is started immediately on receipt of the media and generally takes 2 to 24 hours to complete. The process involves several hours of work and testing. (Mirroring alone may take up to 24 hours of computer time with extensive re-tries for badly damaged devices.)
Complete recovery turn-around time including analysis and recovery is usually between 1 and 5 days. Some severe cases can take considerably more time.
Time estimates are based on procedures and expertise required to recover the data you require. You are not charged by the hour. A firm quote is provided for your approval following the evaluation.
